Can you tell us more? What model of headset? What are you doing, exactly?

Your problem may be that the BT headset is also paired with your cell phone. Most BT headsets can only operate with one device at a time. Once connected to a BT host they remain connected until one of them is turned off. Headsets that can dynamicaly connect to two devices at the same time are just starting to be available.

I tried to use my Jabra 3030 headset to both my phone and my n800. Found out after searching around here that Maemo support for A2DP (thing that makes bluetooth headset work) is real crap!! Its possible to get it to work by running a bunch of hacks, special versions of mplayer etc. REALY REALY stupid by nokia to not implement better bluetooth headset support!

Try search this forum for a2dp and you will find more about this.

My Plantronics 555 works fine with all the N810 applications like Skype and Recorder. All I did was pair it with the N810. Perhaps the problem is that your Jabra won't work with the proponderance of bluetooth devices.

Try removing all the files in the directory /var/lib/bluetooth/NN:NN:NN:NN:NN:NN/ (the NN:s is the BT address - this will make the Nokia forget all existing BT devices), reboot, and redo the pairing. I assume the pincode was correct for the headset.

If the headset will allow multiple pairing, it could still be connecting to a phone.

After pairing it should appear in the device list, and if you click Edit for the entry it should have a button saying connect (or disconnect). If it is grayed out, something more is wrong, but first try the cleaning and redoing the pairing
