Well, these maps are nearly one year old. The Central European one has many mistakes (the same as the old 2006 version had!). Any news about map updates? I still feel I wasted money on this stuff. If I knew it was so useless, I would have sold my (originally lifetime) Navicore license before using it and cutting it down for only three years :S

I want to warn anyone who hasn't yet performed this upgrade... After I upgraded my maps from the 2006 version included in Diablo to the new 2008.1 versions available on the Wayfinder site, I noticed two unhappy things.

First, the new maps don't appear to be materially different from the old maps as far as I can tell in my area. They are still no later than 2002 and do not reflect the many traffic pattern changes in my area that have occurred since 2002. OpenStreetMap (available in Maemo Mapper) is MUCH more accurate, reflecting changes in traffic patterns that happened less than 6 months ago.

Second, the new Wayfinder maps do not have any WiFi POIs. Granted the old WiFi POIs were seriously out of date, but the new maps do not have any WiFi POIs at all. So if you use your Wayfinder Map application to find WiFi hotspots for your IT, you may want to think twice before upgrading your Wayfinder maps.

And finally, I wonder whether the disappearance of the WiFi POIs is causally related the appearance of "Boingo" as a pre-installed app in the 2008 OS? Did prior Maemo releases have Boingo pre-installed?

I cannot re-download any maps whatsoever, keep getting download failed, even on refresh despite seeing the map(s) I need to download.

Any clues?

Nevermind... Privoxy was in the way... DOH!

<emotion kind='sad'> <voice actor='todd'> End of the line. </voice> </emotion>

tracy actually preferred getting directions from Todd than anything, now she gets lost in the car and drives aimlessly looking for a bus route to follow.

Yes it looks like the navicore site is down. Does anybody have the USA East and West Coast maps to upload to megaupload?
