Hi

when i try to install libc6-dev on my n810 i get the following error

apt-get install libc-dev
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Note, selecting libc6-dev instead of libc-dev Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that the package is simply not installable and a bug report against that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
libc6-dev: Depends: libc6 (= 2.5.0-1osso7) but 2.5.0-1osso9 is to be installed
E: Broken packages

trying to install libc6 does not help either...it gives the following

apt-get install libc6
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
libc6 is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 4 not upgraded.

can any1 tell me why i am getting these errors while installing the library??

thanks
unnati

Just a heads up, this seems to be an OS2008 issue, I'm seeing it on my N800 as well.

I haven't any problem installing the libc6-dev package from the sdk repository. Using Diablo repos.

Probably, you are mixing repositories. What repositories have you?
