Bingo. I'd like to see them start off with a todo list though.

I think the key to a good PIM suite is streamlining it; not taking features out, but showing you only what you need, and making it have a flow Take the wifi applet - if you click connect, you aren't confronted with a bunch of fields, options for encryption type, etc. - you simply get the necessary prompts for any applicable information, in a logical order. When I'm quickly entering an appointment in my calendar, most of the time, I just need to enter a description, the time, and the place... and I need to do it fast. If I'm going to take the time to fill out a bunch of other information, I likely have the time to make another button click or two anyways - it's better if I don't have to go through the potentially extraneous options to get to the basic/common ones. I'm not necessarily advocating a full-out wizard-style approach (I could see that getting annoying), but I think that asking the user for the information that is needed (as opposed to dumping them in a Big Box O' Textfields), would be the way to go.
Just my two bits

Jaem, I'd summarise that as "When, Who, What, Where". Anything else is gravy (gravy = click "more options")

For me PIM mostly = "Calendar + ToDo". I keep most of my contacts on my phone, and while it would be good to have that info on the NiT, it's not essential.

What *I* want, is to be able to sync my Nokia Tablet with my PC as easily as I can sync my Nokia Phone.

Please please please remember to also add the ideas and requirements you have to the official wiki page http://wiki.maemo.org/Task:PIM . It's the best chance to have them included on the tablets in the future.

There are several things about the Palm pim to take note of.
An obvious one is that with Palm Calendar you can set bi-weekly events, in fact almost any strange combo:
- Daily until..
- Every week
- Every other week
- Every month
- Every year,
- Every N day(s) until date (or none)
- Every N week(s) until date (or none), on day X
- Every N month(s) until date (or none), the Xth of every month (e.g. the 27th)
- Every N month(s) until date (or none), e.g. the 4th Thursday of that month
- Every N year(s), until date (or none), e.g. November 27th every year.

Another point about Palm PIM is that everything can be done without wading through menus or selections. According to popular lore Palm had a guy who's full time job was to check and make sure that nothing would take more than 3 clicks.

How we use PIM applications is a matter of personal style and process. For me, PIM is my constant companion and assistant which is where the N810 fits in. I also have a Linux desktop and Linux laptop so some degree of synchronization is important to me. I like the GPE PIM applications in part because they also run on under on my other boxes. I had settled on the Google calendar as my main calendar before purchasing the N810. Having erminig on the N810 to sync the Google calendar with the GPE calendar works very well. For PIM data the N810 is now my primary entry device and I need PIM data even if the Internet isn't available. I use GPE Contacts, Calendar, ToDo and Timesheet. It's convienient that the Catagories are common amongst all applications. One thin missing is encryped notes. For that I've chosen notecase which also runs on both platforms. AS a freelance that works alot in Starbucks the N810's email, browser and Skype come in quite handy. Boingo has a $7.95/mo WiFi plan for which includes the N810. Theer are things I'd like to change or improve but I have a workabke set PIM and communication tools that will play nice with my Linux boxes.
