This is a second N770 I've just acquired, and it's not the same issue as http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...t=21797&page=2 - which I also experience but have a workaround.

On the second N770, I can scan for APs, and see some. I try to connect to mine, it asks me for the WPA key, and connects, and acquires an IP address.

But it doesn't seem to actually want to send data wirelessly - try to browse and it doesn't even get the web site address.

According to Connection Manager the connection is up, but bytes transferred is always zero.

My router first of all sees the device, then it disappears.

I can't ping it from any other machine on my network.

My (first) N770 is working fine, both machines have been flashed to OS2007HE (2008), so as far as I'm concerned they are identical.

Any ideas? Does it sound like a hardware problem? Any diagnostics I can run? Or is the opinion that it's basically broken...

if you are trying to connect via your home wireless router try to unplug the power source from the router for about 10 seconds then try to reconnect this happens to me often if it doesnt connect to any wireless connection it may be another problem

Thanks, I just tried that, but it doesn't work. Plus I've repeatedly tried restarting both of my N770s, one connects reliably every time, the second one never connects (or, at least it says it is connected, but not able to actually send/receive any data).
