Hi, I'm very excited with this N800, so just made another new topic about comparing the brightness of these devices. Personally, my rank is PSP < N8xx < iPhone

Still want to collect your opinions for Archos, Blackberry Bold, etc... so welcome anything

Well, I've honestly had more grief from displays that won't go dim enough (in a dark room) than won't go bright enough, and the N800 goes as low as any of my other devices.

I'm seeing N800 as slightly brighter than HP tx2000, but not much.

For my Eee 701, it depends. The brightest the BIOS wants to go (with Fn + F3/F4) is a bit dimmer than the N800, but the Eee's much brighter if I use the secret incantation:
Code:
xbacklight =100
The N800 is by far the best of the screens for color and viewing angle, though.

not sure what the brightnesses would have been but it's useful to compare contrast

By saying brightness, I just mean the ease of seeing the screen under sunlight. That's it.
