Still no WiMAX or XOHM forums from the Powers-That-Be at ITT, so I might as well bring it up here: Be careful with your XOHM devices outside of the official XOHM coverage area.
As far as my co-workers and I can tell, the WiMAX settings on XOHM USB Adapters and the Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition updates weekly, sometimes more. As XOHM themselves warn you: "DO NOT REMOVE OR DISCONNECT THE DEVICE DURING UPDATING."
Out of the 9 XOHM USB Adapters we're using, we've now killed 1 XOHM USB Adapter due to a failed firmware update pushed by XOHM on the DC network. I'm awaiting the return of the adapter to determine if the firmware can be baselined or reset by users, or if it requires intervention by XOHM engineers.
So far my Nokia N810 WiMAX Edition has been behaving itself in DC and Fairfax County, VA, but the loss of one of our XOHM USB Adapters has given me pause.
