Just tried again and it says "video chat is not yet available for my system(n810)

Does that mean it is planned in the future?

What a bummer

May be nokia will push and update just like we had to install something from google.

Video chat will make the tablet immensly useful.

Just imagine using google video chat via 3g... That my friend is true portability.

iirc, google have pushed some xmpp extensions that will serve as a basis for voice and video chat, but i cant say for sure if this gmail feature makes use of it or not.

hrmf, seems i had to dig into the blog to find some of the info i was after. they are indeed using xmpp. but i worry about their choice of video codec (h264).

well we can only hope this will improve with time.

I feel glad that there will be people much smarter than me who will make it work.

I am glad that I have an upgradable device (n810)

Wow, this is dumb. Google Chat with video on my N800, now Google Chat with video on my PC - but they are incompatible and can't call each other!

I initiated a audio call that seemed to work, but google is using H264 video on the PC web client which is not compatible with the tablet, it would be nice to have this work.
