When they ask for the key, I put in the hex key and after a while it says that it failed to connect and I might be using the wrong key, what's wrong and when they ask for input, do I input the key in hex or what?

numerous things could be wrong(assuming you have right key)

WAP or Router is not giving out an address to tablet
WAP or router is restricted also by MAC address
Signal is bad for whatever reason

When you say WEP enabled, I assume it's a router issue.
What kind of router are you using?
Different routers have different keys assigned to it, depending what you put as your routers initial password, it generates a key to allow access, usually WEP.
I'm not sure how you can find out your routers address, I'm not even sure if its the same one, but I go to 192.168.1.1; it should ask for a login username and password. You should refer to the manual for your router. Hope this helps.

Do you have a router?

Try going to 192.168.1.1

I think the fields should be empty, give it a try.

Then look for the wireless field, there should be an option of WEP passkeys; if anything it should be filled with different sorts of numbers and letters.

What is the name of your router?

1. You probably need to enable the DHCP server. This is usually done in the LAN part of the setup menu.

(If you can't find anything about DHCP,
a. type in an IP address, eg. 192.168.1.9
b. set the subnet mask to 255.255.255.0
c. In the DNS part of the setup: type in the two DNS addresses your IP gave you))

In the WLAN part of the setup:

2. Type in some SSID (eg. mywifi)
3. Make sure the access point is not hidden (not all routers have this)
4. Disable MAC filter (if your router supports this)
5. Set Network Authentication to open
6. Disable WEP encryption

Good luck! Let us know if this works.

If it did, set the MAC filter to the hardware address of your n810 and check that it still works. Then enable the WEP and if applicable, hide the access point.

WEP key should be entered in HEXADECIMAL.

Since entry in the connections field hides characters with an "*", best practice is to enter separately in a notepad window and then cut and paste.

You can better use WPA, it is easier (no fixed length hex strings required, but just ordinary text strings of at least six charaters) and more secure. WEP is cracked very easily.
