This is simple, I want to download a file in the background or minimize the dialog, whic gets on the way.
Maybe there is an application to download files, like a download manager ...

ones the download dialog is open and the download is under way, hit the close button.

the download will continue in the background and a message bubble will show up in the corner when its done.

dont know if it will continue even after all browser windows have been closed tho...

wget, a command line application, is great for downloading just about everything, too.

i have seen some odd file names from wget, mostly related to using it to download from database driven pages.

nothing that cant be corrected by a manual edit, but still somewhat annoying at times.
