Has anyone had any luck getting phonelink to work with a WM5 phone? they pair fine, and I can establish a connection to use the intarwebs and such.

But, when I run phonelink and attempt to dial or SMS, it doesn't want to work so well.

I ssh'd in to see if I could find some useful info, and running it from the remote terminal, I see this on the console:

Can't connect: Connection reset by peer
Telephone interface init failed: Command failed. Quitting.

I even tried changing the channel to match an incoming com port I show on my phone.

Any thoughts?

phonelink uses gnokii to connect to the phone over bluetooth.
So your best bet would be to go over at gnokii.org and see if someone managed to use gnokii with a WM5 phone

no luck there.. but, I did notice I still get a "not found" on trying to run gnokii, or ldd against gnokii.

Did you have to do anything special on compiling it, or did you just pull in the source directly and compile it in scratchbox? I'm going to try and build gnokii myself and see if that doesn't remove at least one issue.

thanks.

gnokii is not installed only libgnokii
The compile went fine (I only had to remove /usr/include/usb.h so that libgnokii builds without libusb)
I attach the zipped gnokii armel binary so that you can test with it

thanks for the binary. after ldd choking on the one i had before, i pulled it over to my linux box to run strings on it (why isn't there a strings port.. hrmm), and discovered it was linked to some lib (i forget now) that i didn't have. from there, i pulled down the latest gnokii source, and after many config and build attempts (disable libusb, remove the xgnokii makefile), and copying over the missing libXpm to my 770, i managed to get gnokii to run.

more fiddling, but constant I/O/connection reset errors being displayed on the console. I know it's making contact somewhere, but I can't make it play nicely. At one point, long ago, I was able to get my WM phone to respond to a AT sequence by writing to a com port, but now rfcomm and friends, or using a serial config in gnokiirc, are mostly choking. i'm going to try and pull down minicom and play against the serial port whilst I try and find some C code that does speak to WM5 via bluetooh for contact mangling (I've seen plenty of windows apps that will do this, so i know it's possible), or maybe pull out a dusty tome on bt connections and see what i can't hack together myself.

thank you for your assistance thus far. at least i know have gnokii running.
