I am using the Boxwave horizontal case leather case and I really like it. There is one small caveat which drains my battery when the screen is locked. With the cover closed it will sometimes bump the power button. When this happens the screen comes on and tells you to slide the lock button to unlock. I found today that my battery life dropped because of this while my N810 was in my pocket. Is there a way to keep the power button from causing the screen to come on?

Um, totally disable the power button? I don't think so...

But, you can enable the "Soft Poweroff" power menu item by editing a system file called systemui.xml (a search will tell you how to do this).

Soft Poweroff is different from "Lock Touchscreen and Keys", because to bring it out of Soft Poweroff you have to hold down the power button for a second or two to wake it back up instead of just a click. (also, Soft Poweroff puts the device into offline mode, saving even more battery life).

Maybe this'll help?

I will try this and see what happens. I like the idea of saving even more power. It is a little hard to tell how many times it comes on while it is in my pocket. Like checking if the light goes out on the refrigerator when you shut the door.

I didn't mean to totally disable the power button, however, when it says lock screen and buttons I figured it meant all the buttons.
