Greetings all. I've had my 770 for almost a month and have had no issues until tonight. I'm trying to install some Maemo applications....from Home I select Tools | Application Manager. I see the small window saying,

"Application manager - loading"

about 10 seconds later the window disappears and I'm back to Home. Nothing ever launches. I've tried shutting down and restarting several times with no luck.

If anyone has any insight on what's going wrong, I'd appreciate it. Thanks all.

Looks like screwed /etc/sudoers
Have you tried any of the "gainroot" solutions recently?

Anyways, reflash is likely your only savior

I have been there several times myself with this problem. After reflashing several times i ran across this fix if you have root access. Before reflashing its worth a shot. Run these three commands from xterm as sudo
# cd /var/lib/dpkg/
# mv status status.broken
# cp status-old status

I've fixed that problem by editing the file /usr/share/applications/hildon/osso-application-installer.desktop and commenting out the X-Osso-Service line like this:

#X-Osso-Service=osso_application_installer
