Hi

I've tried to read up on using xterm and gaining access to add maps to Navit, but I'm coming late to the party. I just need directions at 101 level as to how to add OSM premade maps. I know that you need to edit navit.xml, but I seem to have trouble understanding how to get it and then editing it. I would truly appreciate the help.

In xterm:

cp /usr/share/navit/navit.xml ~/.navit/navit.xml
edit it with any editor you like and add something like this to it:

<mapset enabled="yes"> 
<map type="binfile" enabled="yes" data="/media/mmc2/map/planet.bin"/> 
</mapset>
