I want to thank all those who responded to my question.

I read somewhere that the cpu speed for n800 is 400 mhz. My other laptop that's 600 mhz is still significantly faster than N800. Could it a matter of memory size?

You laptop has entirely different processor than your N800. On top of that on your laptop you probably use FF 3.0 or something else, which are significantly faster than the 3.0 alpha engine on the tablet at least with JS speed - the major slowdown on Amazon.

JavaScript you mean.

And while you're at it: ditch Flash too. Or use Flashblock.

As alternative one of the other browsers with a new WebKit might cut it. Their JavaScript engine is much faster.
