We're working on the next version of Canola, but as of now you should probably use beta9 which is available on extras. Having extras-devel enabled is usually not recommended, since things there are not as well tested and might cause you problems.

One of the Canola2 devs suggested (in a thread on this very forum) to try updating/flashing the firmware. Well I tried it and it worked! I was able to install beta9 no error messages or anything.
