Is there any way to connect a network drive, or to be able to use Windows Explorer to copy/paste files/folders onto the tablet?

yes! you must plug in the cable and the external card will appear in the explorer then copy/paste/delete whatever as you would with external drvie, with bluetooth you just have to send them manualy.
if you want to plug in a drive directly to tablet do use a usb-drive that do not need powering else you have to check some post describing how to do it, tabletschool blog have some tutorial you must check there most of your answeres can be found there with video walkthrough's http://tabletschool.blogspot.com/2008/01/contents-page.html
