True the file manager can move the files but Map won't know where to find them so if the user saved multiple maps on the removable card they would need to manually move the desired map the internal card to use.

Please read my suggestion again. It definitely worked for me. All you have to do is use the File Manager to move the entire top-level "maps" directory from the internal memory to the removable card and the Map applicatoin will work properly. Try it and let us know if you find otherwise.

Worked for me also.... What's with only two map sets for the US. They could break that down a bit. 700+ mb is alot to chew. I hope this is an archive of smaller files for the device. I haven't looked at the architecture of it yet. First GPS for me.

This is kind of a bunk step to have to take for a linux machine. I should have a gui drop down or a text config file that could just point to the external card... any way.
