Is anyone working on an RDP client for the 770 (IT 2006)? Someone made a decent start at one here:

http://www.ehore.com/apps/it2006/rdesktop_0.1_armel.deb

with source here:

http://www.ehore.com/apps/it2006/rdesktop_0.1.tar.gz

, but it really isn't useable yet. I can't find any way to right click and text entry via the OSK doesn't work. A connection manager front end would also be very helpful. Right now there is a pretty decent VNC client, ssh client, screen. A RDP client and I would be in remote server management bliss.

I would be willing to pay for a well polished RDP client.

How about at least a show of hands to indicate that there is interest in this?

I can ssh and use X forwarding to run a window through the terminal, but it doesn't have any "hildonization" and like you said, the virtual keyboard won't work that way. It would be really sweet to be able to ssh into my own box at home whenever I was able to get a wifi signal and use my computer at home for browsing, etc. securely.

Hi!
I've been eagerly waiting to buy the upcoming 870. There are 3 apps that I _really_ want for supporting my clients: VNC, SSH and RDP. I know that usable VNC and SSH clients already exist, but a good RDP app would be great. I primarily support my clients remotely with various versions of VNC, but a few only offer RDP.

Unfortunately, I can't really offer any help in its development.

Aloha,
-Jeff

Would anyone be interested in offering a bounty for a well done port? For what its worth, I would be willing to chip in $50.

text entry via the OSK doesn't work..
If you have Accessibilty features installed on the windows box (Look in Accessories) there is an on screen keyboard that works quite well. I agree rdesktop does need more work though. I'd have a go myself, but don't have the time.

I am currently using Microsoft's OSK, but I am not particularly happy with it. Does anyone have any recommendations of other ones they like better?
I am currently using a piece of software called AltTabber from the mp3car.com forums to generate right clicks. I use AltTabber with my in-car computer system's touchscreen, as well.

I'd be very interested in having this working, would prefer it to VNC.

An RDP app with a simple connection manager would be hellaciously useful here too.

Heh, it'd mean I could Aquapack my 770 onto my surfboard and do on-call support between wave sets
