I have got a request/suggestion for this program. I did for a time have somehow managed to get the sounds of one of the Star Trek themes to overwrite the sounds of this app - and I liked the sound it made (like unto a cricket) when hooking to a charger better than the one you chose. Then I upgraded to the latest version and it went away.
Is there any way to make it so that I can choose among sounds when hooking to a charger? I would like something a bit louder at least, I really liked that cricket sound as I could hear it inside the unit's case. I would also like to see some kind of sound made (different than the first one) when the charger is de-tached. So I can tell without looking if it's charging or not.
Thanks for a great app, btw.

Thanks for this; it's a great improvement over the standard battery applet 
.
It also deals with a big bugbear of mine with the standard applet where it shows seemingly 50% power for ages and then drops to "Low Battery" all of a sudden
.
This power monitor solves this problem nicely with added utilities.
It does make me wonder why the standard applet is comparitively so poor though.

Which one should I install? From reading the thread, I know that they're two different packages, but does one offer the functionality of both (say one is the lighter package?). Or do you need to install both to get the full benefit (say I want monitoring via graph and just something to replace my standard battery information).

Thanks 412b for this applet... I have a rare issue. Every time i reboot my n810 i will need to start APMD manually... Is it a bug or it is conflicts with other apps?
I am using the latest version for both APM and AP... I have tried uninstall n install again... still same...

do you have the services applet installed?
it got a pesky bug where it will restore services/daemons with to high a start number, resulting in them failing because other services that they depend on are not already running.
make sure that there is a S50apmd in /etc/rc2.d/.
if you find a S20apmd or anything with a number lower then 50, it should be renamed (mv) to S50apmd.
and you will need root access to do that...
seriously, that services applet should either be removed from repos or cleaned up, the interface is a accident waiting to happen.
