I read a couple articles and wanted to share this.
Agere BluOnyx

It could be extra neat for the 770 as a portable entertainment device.

You beat me to it. I read about it this morning (but no time to post here :-) and immediately thought it could be the perfect companion to the 770...

I was actually pondering this post yesterday but decided to take more time to research it. I think it'd be an easy hack to get this thing to work as an external drive on the 770. I need to get ahold of one.

Toshiba that had a bluetooth storage system a while back call the HOPBIT. I believe it was a wee bit before its time (back when bluetooth seemed to be a bust). Hopefully these types of devices will become common though with 3g+ celluar data streams, we might just start using our cells and a central homebased server to store data instead.

Here's a possible alternative without Bluetooth that lets you use *any* mass storage peripheral...I posted this in another thread...

Agere gave some details at 3GSM in Barcelona today :

http://www.clubic.com/actualite-6964...s-bluonyx.html

The gist of it for non-French-readers :

* first model out June 2007 : 40 GB HDD, expensive (250$) and NO WIFI (only BT !)
* Xmas 2007 : 60 GB HDD model and lighter, less expensive 10 GB Flash model. Still only BT.
* first Wifi-enabled models expected in early 2008.

My advice : wait and keep an eye on D.A.V.E. in the meantime :-)
