hello i'm new to this unit and have had nothing but frustrations. So i have a few questions i'm hoping someone can help with. I can not get youtube to play smooth video. Is that just the way it is or am i missing some settings? I dowloaded fennec for the n810 and it's even worse. I tried to get satellite radio IE Howard stern and man the tutorial was going along well until one of the links was no longer valid and that didn't work either. The web is dreadfully slow with touches. Can I increase memory or cache will that help? is there a setup guide or a tweaks document. Thanks for any suggestions

1) Read the Wiki
2) Tear browser or Webkit-eal will speed things up for you
3) myTube or Youtube Canola Plugin
4) Look at control panel, memory

Seconded. Always the first step.

They will, but they're both experimental at the moment, so expect missing features and bugs. I would suggest using Tear for Javascript-intensive webpages, and microB (default browser) for most other things

That will definitely improve performance. Flash video can be sub-optimal in the browser sometimes. I'd recommend Canola anyway. Also, don't quote me on this, but I believe MPlayer may be able to play Flash video, so for non-Youtube sites, if you can download the FLV file (it's easy in Firefox, I'm not sure about microB - does anyone know?) you may have better luck playing

Enabling swap (essentially, using part of your internal flash card as RAM) will greatly improve performance. Once you're more comfortable with the device, you may want to clone your install to an SD card for more storage (search "console-tools" on the forums), and if you do, you can specify more than the normal amount of swap if you wish.

ok wow this is great info but I of course still have a few questions. Where do I find the "wiki" to read? Tear browser or Webkit-eal will speed things up for you. where is this located? do i download it or is it already on the N810 if so where? with the mytube and canola tube plug in do they operate seperately or within mozilla or the factory browser.

Tear: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...36&postcount=1 - its still in beta

You can think of myTube as the YouTube app on a iPhone. It is a separate app. The Canola Plugin works with the Canoal Media Player. There are also plugins for MediaBox Media Player.

Also, remember to update your firmware to the latest!

First start by going to your Application Manager and enabling Extras repository. Then it will automatically update and you can find Canola and its plugins in there.

Flash memory isn't as fast as RAM.
