I tried a few days ago to port freepops which can read _any_ webmail and can go through proxies.
But the dependencies are huge, especially for crypto stuffs..

If you guys can get this working, that would be awesome. Unfortunately for me all of my contacts, including my fan list, have only heard of my hotmail address, which has made my ITT useless for retrieving my emails.

I think it's moot now that Hotmail has enabled POP access worldwide, unless I'm missing something. I currently have Gmail importing my Hotmail and use the built-in email client to IMAP my Gmail.

Nope your correct ctennenh. Microsoft has finally gotten around to email standards and officially added POP3 for everyone. No need to use hotwayd or any other roundabout method to get your emails. (I need to remember to setup pop3 through Thunderbird instead of using their webmail extension).
