Well, that sums up the questions...

I've read a lot on this site and I thank all who have written it, I just have a couple of issues/questions:

Itouch (don't drill me about the ipod touch thing as I know a lot of Ipod jockeys and they say the term is fine... Apple's starting to use it as well... if it's not as official) or N810? I know this is a major issue but, all of the reports are outdated and the ones that aren't are incredibly biast. I'm talking about 2g itouch and basically, I want to know the pros and cons of each. The itouch has a lot more games but the n810 is more open... (price isn't an issue in this-as in forget comparing the price of apps) oh and saying it's open and stuff... for development... well I plan to jailbreak the itouch if I get one.

Also, how far away do you think the next IT is? basically, I'm fine with waiting say, like 1-2 mths... but just specify how long you think it will be... because n810 is already a year old-the time the n800 lasted.

Anything else I should know... any other devices?
Also, a couple of apps and whether they exist:

PSX emulator... heard on these forums that exists but can't find it anywhere else
Something like PdaNet for itouch- basically, plug into computer and it broadcasts wifi or, acts like a wifi card and recieves wifi

A couple of hardware Qs:
Is it possible to get something to plug into the av socket of your TV (like intercepting it and then putting it through-like an attachment to a cable on a DVD player that then connects to the TV and works normally) and stream it to the N810 (pretty crazy idea... I know)

And when Cravestone's mod for IR and motion and sd adaptor will come out (the full version)

Anyway, Please read the entire post and tell me what you think (sorry for such a long post)

Hi Melon Gaming welcome to the forum.
Take a look at this post it has a few things in it you may find interesting.

There is a lot of information on here about the new tablet the RX51 if you do a quick search but I don't think anything has been announced with adefinate date for release yet.

I suspect you'll want to wait for the next tablet(s) (some details gleaned from kernel code here). The next generation is likely somewhere in the ballpark of 3 months away (+/-2 months), and it'll be a major improvement over both the N810 and the iPod Touch.

It depends, I got mine just a couple of weeks ago, and I am positively surprised. It is more a tiny computer than I thought. I knew next one is not far away, but so what. I think it is cheap now. And think, if you buy one now, you have good reasons to buy next one too, and you end up having both! There's no such thing as having too many toys .

I wonder if most of the features available will also be available for the N810. I understand some like 3G can't be support because is a Hardware limitation but for most of the features I can't see why not.

No i've just decided to buy the RX-51 and haven't ordered one-JayOnThaBeat.

Just a question... how much will the RX-51 cost? Any ideas? And, from what some are saying, it has sim for 3G but, some say it's a phone... which is right? And how much better is it going to be over n810...
Ah, should stop asking all these questions... everything is speculation at the moment... when was the kernel with the details released?

~$500 plus or minus $100 is a safe bet.

It could potentially be a phone, or it could not. We'll have to wait for the product announcement to be sure. One possible explanation is that there will be a phone model and there will be a data-only model, but anything beyond the 3G data is just conjecture.

It's a very significant upgrade over the N810. From strictly a performance standpoint, anyway, expect to see (on average) a 2-3x improvement across the board. Some areas will see even more improvement (like 3D, and video decoding). More than that can't really be said about the hardware until we get more details, though.

Originally in December of last year, then updated in January and the beginning of March.

Thanks GeneralAntilles... sounds like it'll be a major improvement. Will it still run off maemo? Is that what SDK 5 is all about?

Can't wait until it comes out. I live in Australia so... I hope they do a worldwide release or ill have to get some friends to pick one up for me in the US.

Oh, and since it'll probably still run maemo, will current apps work with it? What about things like Debian or Android?
