Ah, I wish I could help you out more but I haven't messed around with ndiswrapper enough myself. And I've never done anything with a Broadcom card besides my gf's laptop.

I'm thinking right now the issue is the WEP on your router. Can you disable it temporarily to see if you can connect? If so then it's probably the driver you have installed can't connect to encrypted points. In that case the issue can be narrowed down at least.

Jayonthabeat, N810 would probably work for you as long as this is a problem with computer and drivers as a pose to router.

Oh and, thanks code_monkey... what kind of tweaks did you make to the n810 to make it better?

WEP is insecure. You shouldn't use it. Use WPA2 instead.

Instead of going with NDISWrappr I suggest you buy a (second hand) alternative instead. Its much more pleasant to use a native driver you stick in and it Just Works. You'll have to open your laptop though. But that shouldn't be too hard. mini PCI Express on eBay. Example as of now: third hit is someone auctioning IWL3945 for 18 USD. Is a good card with good signal strength. Its even sold for 10 USD too. More refined search. I highly recommend these Intel cards because they Just Work (tm) on Windows and Linux (Mac OS X is a different story).

Alternatively, you can pick a USB stick WLAN and plug this in. These are pretty cheap. ZD1211 for between 8 - 10 USD.

Not that I want to get force everyone back on topic here...

I considering purchasing a N810, and well I would like to know a few things:

if anyone has picked up a new one recently and where they got it? (how much?)
what are the best screen protectors you have found?
What are your favorite applications for the n810/n800?

At LTS, I've never stuck with those (haha I'm a sucker for punishment). I use to beta test the new Ubuntu OS. But I'm not with this release since I am pretty busy this time. I'm going wait a month after Jaunty's release to upgrade.
