To put it simply, yes. You may want to use Qole's repository temporarily. Check the first post in the big thread for links where to read.

according to qole, there seemed five things in the package. If i installed libwebkit and tear, how about libxst, libidn11, and libpcre3? are they embedded in libwebkit, or I have to install all of them one by one?

according to nobodysbusiness, i should apt-get install libidn11 libxslt1.1, and then install libwebkit and tear. I have no problem to understand that libwebkit and tear are of the latest versions. how about libidn11 and libxslt1.1? are they of the latest versions?

thanks.

Did you enable qole's repository and install through application manager? That's how it is supposed to be done and rest is details that you shouldn't worry about (if it works)

To install Tear with two clicks enable Qole's repo on application manager, install webkit first and then tear.

Qole's repository:
Web address: http://qole.maemobox.org/repository
Distribution: maemo
Components: main

Still some clicks away from a user-friendly "One-click install",
and not really a "two-click", but very near;-)

This is the first post which helps the normal user getting in touch with Tear w/o hassling with apt-get and/or lib version conflicts and such stuff that should be completely hidden from the user.

The original Tear thread with more than 875 (!) replies has grown to a nearly non-readable thread monster,
and even the initial and hopefully always updated initial post by Bundyo
is rather discouraging for interested _users_ .

It's more like a changes and ToDo list, which is something I'd include somewhere in the project source folder,
but maybe not in the catcher thread for the application.

HTH

If only this post explained what one needs to do to make the Tear icon appear in the standard launcher... Un-checking Micro-b's box and checking Tear's results in a top icon missing and messed up launcher.
