Tear for browsing, canola for multimedia + Mplayer required, abiword for word processing, fbreader for e-books, mytube for youtube videos, GPE calendar and erminig if syncing to your google calendar, GPE to-do, GPE contacts, and GPE file manager, and for games sdl quake and opentyrian. A-GPS for a better Satellite fix, advanced-backlight for easier sound and brightness access,

8G internal card has 512M dos + 3.0G ext2 for clone os + 3.5G ext2 for easy Debian (just file system, easy-deb-chroot uninstalled) + >512 swap.

with the help of others and my effort to google internet, I solved some confusions. this is my experience.
Palm 500, m505, Sony NR70V and N800 newbie.
8G internal card has 512M dos + 3.0G ext2 for clone os + 3.5G ext2 for easy Debian (just file system, easy-deb-chroot uninstalled) + >512 swap.
