Do you need me to run debug builds, test any approach you come up with, something like that? Since you don't have easy access to an N810, I'm up for that.

1 yes, 2 no. I'm using ubuntu chroot for libwebkit.

Your dbus service file and desktop file say (com.nokia).tear but the binary itself has com.nokia.Tear strings in it. May I suggest having it all lowercase?
The com.nokia.Tear is the server and I have no idea how to register that with libosso, so I'm using separate DBus registration. If you know how, I'll be glad to hear.

Bug: The hardware back button on the N810 (i.e. the button below the task switch one) skips a page - i.e. goes back by two - because it acts on both press and release.

Are you sure this happens every time (and acts on press and release)?

Sorry, I must correct myself: It goes back by two on press already. That the two comes from press+release was an overly hasty conclusion on my part. Pressing too long closes the window, so it's a bit annoying to test. (And yes, it happens every time.)

Humm, an app restart just fixed it. But I know I had this in two separate sessions earlier. I don't know yet what triggers it, but will keep an eye out.

Hmm, I think I found that problem. It was related to the showing of the toolbar.

I've now played around with showing the toolbar using the d-pad middle button a bit, but still can't trigger it again. Haven't hit the right sequence of steps again, I guess.

Btw, it would be nice if the toolbar would show on press+hold for the needed amount of time directly rather than wait for the release. The way it is right now, there is no feedback on when you have pressed the button long enough. <cheap soap box>Good UI design is about feedback, feedback, feedback.</cheap soap box>
