Hi,

I use Evince document viewer which supports cbr and cbz comics. The problem is that most downloaded comics make the N770 choke: the scans are bigger than the tablet can handle (hopefully the N800 has enough power to view big images)

The solution: I wrote a script that unpacks, resizes and repacks the images, for my Linux machine...Do I get the $100 N800 then?

Thanks for the info!

Would it therefore be possible to unpack the files resize the jpegs using faststone or similar and then re compile the files? If so what is the optimum size for the images?

although I guess I shouldn't be reading comics all day...

... some of the day is fine though

I just unpack the images into a directory and use "scp -r" to copy it from my home machine. "wget -r" would work too. Then, I use the image viewer.

My problem usually is that the resized images don't keep the letter crispness well. Has anyone written something to do good comic-specific resizing? I would guess that's a sharpen filter after the scaling. I can put it together if such a beast hasn't been written yet.
