Hmm, not sure Maybe WebKit can do that, but the rest of the interface will be left horizontal. Otherwise without the kernel and Xorg patch I'm not sure it is possible at all.

Really small request: can you add that small piece of code that allows Tear to start up in fullscreen if it was last exited in fullscreen (or when one clicks on a link and is already in fullscreen mode but the new window doesn't pop up in that mode).

I'll add to the bug tracker in a bit...

Edit: added to bug tracker now

Is it possible to configure tear so that it opens with the bookmark dashboard rather than the dashboard with the most recently opened webpages?

Done: Improve handling of toolbar unhiding by unhiding after sufficiently long press rather than wait for release

A patch that adds this option is here:

http://my.arava.co.il/~matan/770/dashboard_select.diff

A binary (0.3.1) compiled with this patch (and the extra keyboard shortcuts patch) is at

http://my.arava.co.il/~matan/770/tear

To use it, download the file, and copy it to /usr/bin, overwriting the existing tear binary.

The shortcuts patch is actually not that easy - I've removed the accelerators with the latest version so for users without them it won't work.

one thing about the full screen toolbar, edit its setting to "short" and just tap the button.

heh, i maybe was a bit quick there...

anyways, what i was trying to say was this:

fire up tear, go to menu -> tools -> options, and edit the wake_toolbar_shortcut_speed to read short.

then you do not need to hold down the button before the menu shows up
