a potential tear bug then?

I just tried to peruse this post by qwerty12 using Tear (with Minimalist theme) :

http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ad.php?t=28712

Had a few problems :-)

- using the inner scrollbars for the quoted code erratically moves around the entire page

- I could not select text inside the code block (had to select all then sort the fluff

- I could not open or download the attached .deb

Known issues ?

I'm not quite sure. My best guess is that this has to do with the inconsistant naming of the dbus service within tear itself (com.nokia.tear vs. com.nokia.Tear). However, it could also be due to my OS. I have my OS cloned to SD card, I've fsck'd it a couple times, and it has deleted some files it probably shouldn't have. I also seem to have dbus problems with some other applications, so that might be the cause of my problems.

Yes.
No (did you hold the menu key down)?
Yes (if you mean the name is not recognised).

Btw, just uploaded the fixed 770 version.

This browser is awesome! Many thanks to all who have worked on it. Even though it is still in development, this is the best browser available for Maemo.

For newbies like myself, follow these instructions to install this browser on your N810:

Go to Settings > Application Manager > Hit "Menu" button > Tools > Application catalogue > New

Enter the following info:

Qole's repository
Web address: http://qole.org/repository (NEW ADDRESS!)
Distribution: maemo
Components: main

This adds Tear to your "Browse installable applications", just click "All", and scroll down to Tear and proceed with installation. That is the only thing you have to do to have the best browser for the N810.

Yes, the repository changed, even though the old one is still there. I was told by my host that it was being taken offline. It hasn't, yet, but don't trust it to stay there...

I'll have to do a search-and-replace throughout these forums to update all the links to my new site...
