After a little experimenting, I've determined that Rider's formatting problems are due to using any minimum font size [font.minimum-size.x-western] of > 10.

...which makes the answer "don't use one" even more inappropriate :-)

I guess the point is mostly moot anyway, as even if it worked properly, the new theme is just too wasteful of vertical space to of use on tablets (just scroll the New posts page until the headers are gone and see how many fit one one screen :-).

But now we have the Classics back, and will soon have a brand new Minimalist, so...

I notice there's a really long delay after the end of rendering on MicroB (it's still there on my Mini 9, but not as noticeable). It seems to be js related, as the little drop down page selector menu on the page selection area appears after it.

Anybody else seeing it? Anybody else know exactly what's causing it? Can it be killed or improved?

This is with FF 3.5 on a Phenom II X4. Considering that FF 3.5 is about 20 times faster on the same computer than the FF 2.0 engine MicroB is using and that the tablet is a big deal slower than a desktop PC, these 72ms are turnning probably to 2-3 seconds.

MicroB is FF3 (a1, sure, but still FF3).

No, the alpha engine is before the first round of speedups. They merged them later.

EDIT: Anyway - it is easily seen where the slowdown comes from.

Seems the javascript speedup came even later - in beta 4:

There is a security issue:
The old site masked your password while typing. This new site exposes it to all.

Another website changing something that worked fine.
I don't like the new site. Do you think you can require us to scroll any more? I'll be in China before I get to the bottom of the page.
