Can someone think of a way to import my microb bookmarks into tear?

ghetto way:

1. microb menu> navigation > bookmarks
2. bookmarks menu > tools> export
3. open exported html file via file manager.
4. copy url (should begin with "file:///")
5. tear menu > tools > options
6. make home_page option the url you just copied.

Now your tear homepage will be an html file of your microb bookmarks.

I have confirmed the previously cited better google video performance in 0.3 over 0.3.1.

Process:

1. Install 0.3.0
2. Navigate to video.google.com. Select "videos playable on Google" option just below search bar.
3. Search for "maemo site:dailymotion.com"
4. once videos load, click on second thumnail on the left (which is associated with the video "OS2008 on N800 Part 2: Youtube"
5. Wait a few moments (maybe 10-15 seconds) for video to load on right.
6. when you see an arrow appear in video pane on right, double click the arrow (one click won't register).

Almost immediately, the dailymotion banner will descend from top of the small video pane on right, and then you will see what looks like a cartoon die expand and contract as the video loads, and then the video will play.

Now install tear 0.3.1

Once you get double click at step 6, the process will basically just stall. You are unlikely to see the dailymotion banner immediately descend from top of video pane, and you will not see the cartoon die expand and contract to show you that the video is loading.

Try this on a few more videos for your favorite search terms and you will see that 0.3 performs better than 0.3.1.

Obviously I know that this is an idiosyncratic concern---I happened to enjoy using tear to watch videos smoothly through the video.google.com interface. Maybe others did not, and maybe the problem does not infect other areas of performance.

(Note: I did not check to see if this was a user-agent issue, since I took Bundyo's word for it that it wouldn't be the culprit.)

Its actually playing for me - not at full speed but watchable. I'm with iPhone user-agent but I'll check with the default too.

I stand corrected - when using iPhone user-agent, the little video to the right is not shown but instead the link takes me to the dailymotion site where the video plays in full resolution and slow.

Now with the iPhone user-agent again - i have a "watch video here" link which opens the same preview under the found link and it plays it small.

And back to the standard user-agent. Works again, the video on right runs, but it takes a little longer to load I think...

Also if you choose original size from the dailymotion menu, it becomes even better.

careful. the new window opening to redirect to the dailymotion site happens to me too sometimes, i think w/ both versions. so if that happens, it's not necessarily indicative of the issue i cite. neither is the performance of the video on the dailymotion site itself.

no performance problem w/ new tear combined with 0.3 thread's webkit.

seriously, even if you can get a video finally to work with 0.3.1's webkit, things work so much better with 0.3's. again, i know this is an idiosyncratic complaint.

VIVA LA TEAR!!!!!
