Could "Control Panel" be swapped for "Mark Forums Read"? I use the latter on every visit and the former never (well, maybe once).

I also use Mark Forums Read all the time, and Control Panel maybe twice a year. When FireFox has been up some days and grown to its usual multi-hundred-megabyte size it takes time to open that pull-down and find Mark Forums Read. All in all it takes much longer to wade through ItT than forums with a ready available Mark Forums Read.

Raising an enhancement request against Website > talk on bugzilla would be handy; but I don't have time right now.

What would people think of making "Today's Posts" the default launch screen for Talk?

Great question Tim.

Are there any people we can ask?

I thought about that when they moved from itt to tmo ... because that's what i realized i didn't have the most recent posts any longer when i open the site.

but:

i think it's only the regulars (you know, us people who don't have a life and write several hundred posts about a device that isn't even announced ) who would benefit from this. and we can bookmark either
http://talk.maemo.org/search.php?do=getdaily
or
http://talk.maemo.org/search.php?do=getnew
instead of
http://talk.maemo.org/
according to our needs.

the others - new users we're still waiting to flood this forum once the thing is out - will probably prefer the more systematic layout we have now until they find their way around... don't you think so?

I agree with benny. Seems like it would be good for regular users, but perhaps not so much for new users.

I use Control Panel constantly. I subscribe to all the interesting threads and they show up in Control Panel when someone posts to them. I have the forum auto-subscribe me if I post in a thread, too.

I'm not sure if you've seen that "Mark Forums Read" is under "Quick Links".

Do you want it in the top level?
