I'm new here and am expecting an N800 soon, after a year of wanting one, but a few "okay" purchases when I could've just saved my money (ended up selling a Mylo COM-2 and losing money)... I'm looking forward to it.

Anyway, I'm pretty happy there's such a community, I'm happy there's Maemo, I'm happy Nokia chose the platform it has and supports Open Source. I would like to help a couple developers.

If you're looking for a website re/design, I would love to help. Since you are Open Source developers, I can manage to do a couple sites for free. I need some more portfolio work as well. Oh yeah I forgot to add - I'm also up for doing a logo, set of icons, UI gfx for Maemo apps.

I am by no means a PHP guru but I do develop with it and have taught myself a few things. But I am more comfortable providing the design and a semi-dynamic website (something built on a blogging or CMS engine).

My portfolio http://www.oquilluksound.com/jrd

As I recently have attained a job (only 30 hours a week) I may not be able to invest as much time as I usually would, but I still have a good amount of free time for this.

Wow, someone offering help in the Maemo-community! I would love some help, but I'm not sure if it's something you'd like to do. I'm rewriting my video streaming app and the server is completely web based. It already works ok, but I'm really no graphics designer so it could look better and more unified. It could also use a more thumb/tablet friendly layout too. It uses some ajax which means it's sliced into small pieces, but editing it shouldn't require huge programming skills.

So sort of a GUI design? I'd be up for that. I have no experience with AJAX though, but if the shell is there I'm sure I can work with it. Have a link?

Can you join our #knots irc channel at freenode? I could give you access to my server so you don't need to install it to take a look.

Hi Justin,

Thanks for the offer. These sorts of things are why this community is so great!

FYI, this particular website was just redesigned, although you can request to join the "team" here. Of course, others may need design for their project-specific sites, so hopefully they'll speak up.

As for UI design, our app developers are always in need of that! (As you have already seen.)

Welcome to the community!
Tim

Justin,

Sorry about the name thing! (Fixed above.) I knew it was Justin, but looked up at your username and saw "Jeff" instead of "JSelf"... Hehe...er...ahem. Many apologies!

Tim

Hey is there any such projects by the name of Lemur or Ringtail? I've just been having interest in ring-tailed lemurs, they're awesome! Anyway, I was thinking of doing a bit of a cartoonish illustration for my portfolio, but if there is a project that could use a mascot that'd be even better.
