I just tried loading the cifs.ko module but the version in my n800 is for kernel 2.6.16. And I have 2.6.18. (I guess after the update it changed the kernel)

I get this error message:
insmod: cannot insert `./cifs.ko': Invalid module format (-1): Exec format error

I was wondering were can I get the cifs.ko for this version or how can I compile the code for this version.

in order for that to work cifs.ko has to be running in the kernel. But it is not because the versions are different.

vision06: the point is that it's already present (AIUI, no N800 to check)

There is definately no cifs.ko file as standard in the second OS2007 release (51-6), unless it's already built into the kernel.

Ah, OK - sorry for the misinformation, then.
