Or you can look at it under window/administrator/disk management and see what it show OR under acronis if you happen to have a copy OR gpartition OR partition Magic OR....
Well, I dont care that much about $24, I do salivate at a 32 G SD if it is salvagable.

I'll give some of these a try. Thanks for your suggestions Bun!

On a side note, did anyone else find a 32gb SDHC card (class 2 is fine for me) at a reasonable price yet? The best I'm finding so far is in the $80 category still.

Bun, tried the HP formatter and the XP formatter. Both work without a hitch but when I copy mp3's they show up but won't play. The file size looks correct, name, foler all ok but they won't play.

But the card looks impressive!!! Sandisk 32gb SDCH Extreme 3. I'll just wave it around to make people jealous!

Derek,
I hate to beat on the dead horse/SD , I hope you are using a low level formatting, i.e., the option took at least 7 to 8 min, right, as long as NOT the quick format. What does it say on the HP format, after low level format? You have to shut the program and re-start in order to read it correctly. If the reading is NOT approx 31G, the low level formatting is NOT working, or it does NOT work on your card.

From your ebay link, 100% positive feedback from 568 customers. I did a random check, of the 1st 10 feedbacks, 8 of them returned the SD said it did NOT work, gave a + feedback as they eventually received the refund. Interesting, so the working rate for the card, is at most 20%! Apparantly, the 100% feedback is for good communication and fast refund, NOT for the card

Elaborating on what bunanson is saying, I'd be trying the Panasonic formatting tool and I'd select all the most demanding options, like Yes to erase, etc. (I forget what they are, but you'll figure out which is which). (Maybe I'm saying this because I don't know what the HP formatter is, but the Panasonic tool seems to get to the bottom of things!) (Also, I assume you're doing this with a card reader, not while inserted in the NIT.)

HP computer also has a low level formatter, it works just as good as the panasonic. I have used both. Key point, as you brought out, do NOT try it on the tablet, their partition and formating is WEAK, whatever it means. Try to do it on your desktop PC or using a USB card reader, you can get one here, http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=29294.

I bought a supposed Kingston 8G minSDHC but Kingston did not make the 8G.
It was formatted 8G but it would not go past 2G; somehow, the file structure info did not match with the physical memory. So I had to declare they had voodoo magic on the card!
Low level format won't help.

In cases like that, the seller has usually hacked the bios on the device to make it report more cells and thus more storage than it really has.

Yes, in a card reader - actually 2 ways on an XP machne - in a reader directly and in a USB druve into the USB port.

I'll give the Pana app a try - always usefult to have such programmes in ones toolbox anyway.

Thanks.
