can any one give more detail on how to get mplayer working right in 2008HE, the only version I can install is the n800 version and it will not play anything, I tried forcing apt-get to install some mime0 something (from maemo gregale repos) and it removed tons of stuff and rebooted and killed my mmc copy of 2008. So i am recloning now but I could use some help for when it is up again. I tried all the above versions from the garage ( back to .2 and it even required the 'hildon-fm1'*the problem*) and the one from "pablob" and none would install from the app manager.

I just updated my mplayer version 26 which didn't work to version 29 on my 770HE and it works now.

mplayer on he2008, once again. I first install mplayer from he2008. How do I upgrade it to any .24 or newer 770 version? I have those downloaded and ready to be used, but all I get is dependency problems. any "noob howto" available?

This was the first I tried with. Had he same depedency problems though.
Or do you mean I should install some .18 8X0 version first?

download your choice of mplayer version from gregale extras repository and force install with dpkg:

Some screenshots taken with N800 on 700/2007He running GVM beta II. Either 2008He or 2007He runs GVM, however, 2008He is much faster and much much more stable whereas 2007He has a crash every now and then.

2007He running gvm for 2007OS. gvm for 2008OS installed on 2008He has file dependency problem.
