Did you install Android inside of Maemo, or NITdroid, which installs as its own OS?

From my own experience, that version is pointless.

i loaded it on my n810 and then couldn't do anything with it.

in my sig, there's a link to a post where I wrote step by step how i installed NITdroid. this, however, involves flashing and a bunch of other semi-complicated stuff.

also. it will get you android (NITdroid), but sound is not working yet, which IMO severly impacts usefulness. and, as mentioned before, in order to get maemo back on, you will need to reflash, so be sure that you will be able to do so.

also, a linux installation (ie Ubuntu) is required to follow my steps.

in the end, its up to you to decide if its worth it (with this silent version)

What applications can you run on Android? Is this like a Android Virtual Machine or what is it?

So this is a Google application, or an application with the basic core applications from Android like: web browser (is this Chrome?), Google map and Google contacts? It looks interesting... What else does it have?

Is this a newer version of android, or an older one?

when I installed it inside Maemo, it was an older version.
