Independently of what BGR is saying, I have got a chance to check N97 out yesterday. The keyboard absolutely positively definitely sucks moose balls.

I don't understand what the input method has to do with the screen quality...
Why does BGR complains about the resistive-type digitizer? Why, if many choose capacitive, that has to be the right path?

There are two parts to this question:

1. BGR complains about resistive touch screen because he is a mac nut.
2. Resistive touch screens are more precise than capacitive ones but more fragile and do not allow for real multitouch usage.

Seeing my sister's Ipod Touch I don't really think multitouch is something I can't live without, while the hard screen makes sense on a device you will probably sit on (I saw it at the university and at the train station... I almost cried...).
Still fagility is a price I gladly pay to have precision while I use my portable device: I can easily buy a hard cover, while psychologist cures to regain my sanity after selecting for the fourth time in a row the wrong line is something I can't still afford...

A psychologist! Of course! How come I've never got that idea... Much better than my current "throwing the handheld out of the window"...

Just to make it clear, we at Nokia don't hate any blogger. After all, we read comments with an open mind - just like on t.m.o. It's a busy world in the web and people are entitled to their views. Maybe, we should invite BGR to test drive the Maemo 5 lead device and see what he thinks. Once I see his blog post on the Maemo 5 device I might have to change my opinion. ;-)

Probably not worth it, in this particular case. Nothing will come out of it.

We should invite him to test drive a customized version of the Maemo 5 lead device, hiding all traces of Nokia on it from both the HW and the SW.

Etch an Apple logo on it, too.

Instead of inviting BGR you should allow some of the long time maemo community members to do such a review. Could answer many of our questions.
