if you haven't yet seen http://test.maemo.org/applications/ have a look. it is meant to replace the giant wikipage that had all the apps before.

it also has click installs for some apps. these add the needed repos to your tablet and then install the package you want.

I've not had any trouble reaching it, but to be honest, I'm not that impressed. Most things on the site have the install link geryed out...

I've seen the site, and I've even edited some Maemo Mapper-related stuff, but as a 3rd-party developer, I haven't heard anything official from Nokia about this new repository. My guess is that they're still working out the logistics, which is exactly why it's at the "test.maemo.org" domain.

So the "grayed out install links" shouldn't be something to worry about. The site isn't even announced yet!

If anybody out there is involved in its development, though, I hope you're thinking about how to provide separate versions of the same application (with separate install files), one for each of the hardware revisions (so far, just 770 and n800). Or perhaps allow arbitrary feature-disparate versions, so that use-case-specific versions of the same application could be released without creating separate project names. Also, will the Documentation pages on the Garage pages be made available in the new repository interface, or do I have to duplicate them in the wiki with tags?

I only checked against mplayer and maemo mapper, but both have a green arrow for the install link.

I'm viewing in Firefox 2, if that makes any difference.
