I noticed that the URL is the same regardless of whether I click satelite or Street.

What is the URL I am supposed to be using or how do I find it.

I also tried
Google Maps (street)
http://mt.google.com/mt?x=%d&y=%d&zoom=%d

Google Maps (street) (alternative)
http://mt.google.com/mt?v=ap.999&x=%d&y=%d&zoom=%d

Same result.

Thanks itschy. Will check it out.

Most people don't like OSM because of the colors of the maps.
by changing the style, they could customise as they want.
