When I bought my N810 back in Feb of 08, I also bought a 6G Sandisk micro SDHC (class 4) from Amazon. Upon discovering that the N810 doesn't actually take micro cards, I bought one of those Sandisk adapter sets (micro - full, and micro-mini, and comes with a 1G card) from Radio Shack (I was deparate... what can I say).
I have had almost no trouble from it over the last year and a bit.
I say almost, because every now and then, I have to re-insert a couple of times to get it to recognize. I wonder if the previous comment (about inserting too hard is the culprit). I find that using the stylus to press on the mini-adapter is the best way to get it clicked-in correctly (I have fat fingers, so I generally can't get it to click by myself).
Oddly, as I was reading this thread, I thought I would see if there were any identifying marks on the adapter that might narrow down the problem. The only thing I found on my adapter was a date-stamp on the back (says 2007-03-08A). But, when I put the adapter back in, I got my first ever 'Corrupted' error.
So, a reinsert. Still the same error. OK, a reboot. Problem fixed. Memory card is used and working again.
Also, I have noticed a few times in the last year that an improperly inserted card may also cause the internal card not be recognized. As soon as the external card is reseated 'correctly', they both magically appear.
My guess? Something about the N810s funky slot does not play well with Sandisks adapter. Having said that, they can be made to work, as I have done so successfully for over a year.

Guess I spoke too soon. I took the card out to about three hours after the last post. I needed to do some re-partitioning and external backups.
I needed to insert and remove about 3 times to complete all the stuff I needed to do. When I tried to insert the last time, it didn't want to play nice. It took about 4 reboots (including a remove-the-battery one) and about 30 re-inserts of the card to get it to come up correctly.
During the process, of trying to get it to work, I re-inserted it into my Linux PC to verify that I hadn't accidentally toasted it at some point. It always worked correctly on the PC.
So, I feel comfortable saying that it is some kind of physical mis-match between the Nokia interface and the SanDisk adapter or between the SanDIsk adapter and the micro-card.
Microcard + FS adapter into PC worked flawlessly the whole time.
Once I got it installed and recognized, it seems to be working correctly. So, it isn't an (electrical?) corruption. It's an interface issue.
It worries me that I had 0 problems with this prior to today. One quickly fixed problem earlier today, and now much more effort to get it to work. Guess I am in the market for a new mini-micro adapter.
Pity nobody actually makes 16GB MINI SD cards (especially class 6!!)

I got the same problem from the mini adapter.But if you insert the adapter first then insert the micro sdhc don't force it all the way in,it worked for me.might have to try a few times.

I took a chance and ordered a Sandisk micro-mini converter and it fixed these problems! It took a few tries for the N810 to recognize it (unlike the Patriot converter). I wonder if the Sandisk works because it's less forgiving. I'm glad I found this thread.

Chiming in, too. I've had an N800 and an N810 since Feb. and last month bought 2 SanDisk 16 Micro SDHC (one for each device). Got them for around $45 each from Digizone Technology. Nice part was that each came with 2 adapters. Both cards are working flawlessly.

I’ve had a few months now to play with my N800 + N810, but now I’m perplexed. Both are OS2008, Diablo 5.2008.43-7, and are running Flash Player 9.0.48.0. The N800 streams some video OK, but not some Internet radio stations. Then, oddly, it plays video files stored on the Internet and those stored on the device.
My N810 won’t stream video or Internet radio stations. But it plays video files stored on the Internet and those stored on the device.
Anyone know why these devices, seemingly configured the same way, aren’t handling audio and video the same way?
