I don't have a PC keyboard that I can try. I used a laptop so the keyboard is kinda attached to it. I had to buy this one specially for this purpose^^

I've no idea how to play around with the hildon-im-xkbtool You'll have to be a little more specific

I got so sick of Umlauts that I went out and bought yet another keyboard! A nice little one, none silicone and I can even touch type on it so I'm happy (Here is what it is if you need it: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=260409387125)

But although I'm super happy with the new keyboard, it has not solved the Umlauts that are beginning to haunt my dreams!! It is getting to be a right pain going through and changing them all to inverted comers and apostrophes... After about 10,000 I'm beginning to loose the will to live!

Please ANY suggestions as to why it is doing this will really really REALLY be apprecaited!

Thanks in advance

Maybe this is related to wakeup? See https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2973 .

OK, linux gurus out here!

I have the same problem, but in the opposite direction. I have a german layout usb-keyboard, which works fine with the N810, but it thinks that the layout is US or UK-english. Local and language settings are on German, even the N810´s built in norwegian keyboard behaves like a german one.

And I NEED THE UMLAUTS and the ACCENT instead of the apostrophe.

Where can I change the external keyboard layout?

Help! Help! Thanks: Balazs
