I pre-ordered it but have received no notice that they took my money, so probably no one has got it yet.

@geneven - the order form specifically says that they won't charge you before the hardware is shipped (standard regulation - in EU at least).

I'm sorely tempted by one of these instead of the whole eee pc type thing. I'm hoping someone else has managed to find these details though:

1) In tablet format does it have any hardware keys? like the fullscreen and zoom of the NITs, if not maybe its not a major concern but it would be useful.

2) What's the battery life like in tablet mode? As a whole unit 10+ hours sounds fantastic.

From my pov this is a tablet you can turn into a netbook not the other way round. I just hope its everything I want it to be, shame I can't have a play before buying one.

From their FAQ:

Q. How long is the battery life?
A. Battery life really depends on usage. The standalone touchscreen should last between 3 and 5 hours. With the keyboard attached, the system should last more than 10 hours.

Now what's a good note taking app for Linux and ARM processors ?

As soon as the company gets off and becomes a hit, it will only be a matter of time before the price of these things go down.

If the beagleboard project is hugely successful with the Touchbook and the Pandora I'm sure the price will drop much lower because TI would be willing to give them OMAP34XX, meaning massive production.

I know that. I read the order form when I ordered it.

Xournal is already a life saver on the N8x0, should work fantastically on the Touch Book.

Dependencies shouldn't be a issue, right ?

Not sure if it's already been clarified, but will apps from any particular distro of linux...say ubuntu work with this, or will all apps have to be ported for A.I.'s particular flavor?

As long as the app was made for ARM processors and you have the proper dependencies everything should work.

The proper dependencies bit is where things get complicated
