New version of kismet (2007-01-R1b) is available in my repository (http://eko.one.pl/maemo mistral user), compiled for IT2006.

No gui, no power management. Install osso-xterm and as root run kismet. After using kismet N770 restart is required.

All N800 users: please test this packages.

i have gotten my GPS to work with kismet and gpsd, but have a question about the coordinates that are logged in the csv files.

if i plot the coordinates on a map, such as maemo mapper, the positions show where i was standing, not that of the Access Point. Is this the desired output, or am i expecting too much?

Yes, you are expecting too much. There is not possibilities to find where AP is, only signal strange.

I would love it if future IT devices left an auxilary antenna connector inside (mmc, mmcx or something similar, not u.FL) for hooking up to an external antenna. The N770/N800 are already of great use as site survey/wireless skulldugery tools, but they could be even better!
