I had been without my 770 for 6 weeks at repair facility before getting my N800. But I noticed that the hanwriting recognition seems much better than on my 770. I have not heard anyone else mention this. Am I crazy? Was there an update in the N800? Is it just a touchscreen difference? Maybe it was just my 770?

Anyone else that owned both, see any difference?

Does the 770 understand cursive?

Good to hear you got your situation with Nokia resolved, I'm sure not quite to your satisfaction though .

If it's better than the 770, makes me scared to think how the handwriting input is on that

I found the n800's handwriting recognition, even when going through the teach application, it isn't all that accurate. I'm finding it a little slow - sticking to VK for now.

I have to admit that I don't see any difference in "handwriting" recognition between the 770 and the N800. I've set them both up to be as identical as possible (it really pays to go through the "teaching" part and either eliminate the shapes you'll certain you'll never use and/or add your own letter shapes where necessary) and the only thing I notice is that the N800 is maybe marginally quicker.

It still has the brain-numbingly annoying habit of erasing letters when even the teensiest part of the next stroke overlaps them; and the show-stopping anti-user behaviour of nilly-willy transposing an "i" with a dot into a semi-colon (but not always, because that would be too easy, obviously) is still present.

And did someone ask about cursive recognition? Dude, it won't even properly do printed, so there...
