So it looks like you need a supported USB to serial adapter.

The Freeduino SB (Arduino Diecimila, but cheaper and OPEN) comes with one (FTDI chipset) built in: http://www.freeduino.org/buy.html

No problem, be sure to make posts of your arduino + NIT projects.

The link you gave uses an arduino board with a built in FTDI USB to serial chipset. No matter what you'll need a USB to serial device with a FTDI or pl2303 chipset.

i found something about connection on n810.
they say it is a must to install minicom for serial adapters with n810
here is quote:
Nokia Internet Tablet Compatibility

This serial adapter, based on the PL2303 chipset, is supported on Nokia N8x0 series internet tablets running IT OS 2008. You need to make sure that you install the additional USB-Serial drivers set for the N800, or the USB-Serial drives package for the N810 before connecting this device in order for it to be recognized. (The N800 package also includes support for USB GPS devices, while the N810 package does not by default as they conflict with the internal GPS drivers). You'll also need a copy of Minicom for the Tablets, available here.
please please help if you have any idea about this issue.
i promise i'll make something cool with interaction of arduino and n810

I wouldn't worry about this until you own a USB to serial device with a FTDI or pl2303 chipset.

Okay, did you follow the instructions I listed earlier in this thread? Can I see your dmesg?

did you forget we tried a lot to get it work then we gave up.this thread is old.
but now i found minicom they it is a must for n8x0 devices.
but i dunno how to use it.
they say look internet tablet wiki for usage of minicom
but there is no article there about minicom

what i wanna mean is dmesg probably wont be differnt.
because i installed minicom.but i didnt do anything with it.

If I remember right, your dmesg was showing a non- pl2303 device. Copy/paste your dmesg output here when you get a chance.

I believe minicom was just a dependency for screen....or maybe nano was. Either way, I don't think it's your problem. You can grab the deb here http://p.quinput.eu/debfarm/pool/min...c1-2_armel.deb

EDIT: realized you already installed minicom, but will leave the link up in case someone needs it in the future.
