If it can charge via USB or miniUSB, then I don't need any special chargers for it (my G1 charges via miniUSB, and they're all hooked up to ports on computers, and for emergencies I have a wall USB port (and a car cig-lighter USB port, but I never use that since I don't have a car anymore) ... so worst case, I'd just have to get regular USB cables to replace the USB->miniUSB cables).

My G1 has worse battery life than 6 hours, so this would be a step up ;-)

Looking at that picture, I think I know what I would have done differently on the keyboard, wrt to the control key (I mean, other than making it a 5 row keyboard).

IF the control key is NOT sticky (you have to hold it down to get the "control" aspect):
  1. Blue-Up is Control (puts it on the right side, where it belongs, and is sort of symbolic of a control key (where the shorthand is often ^ )). So, you'd hit the blue diagonal arrow ... release ... hit the up arrow (don't release) ... hit the desired key. So, sending and interrupt becomes 3 key strokes: "blue up+c"
  2. For the current "Ctrl | Sym" key, I would make it "Sym | Esc". Meaning the white/normal aspect of the key is "Symbol", and the blue aspect of the key is "Escape".
  3. Hitting the blue arrow twice is tab. "shift blue blue" is back-tab.

If the control key IS sticky (you release it before hitting the desired key), then that still leaves open the question of "where escape?" and "where's tab"? In that case, I would say:
  • "blue up" would be escape,
  • "blue left" would be back-tab, and
  • "blue right" would be tab.

I would leave "blue down" alone, to avoid mistakes with the tab keys.

But, really, the proper solution is a 5 row keyboard, with actual control, escape, and tab keys; plus dedicated number row, and arrow keys. And a dpad on the face.

Somebody asked for an exact translation of Murtazin's LJ post, so here it is:
Wrote about it in Twitter and here is the result...
One of, will make more screenies while in transit. The software is compatible . For now, I will just repeat what I have said before: it is the most impressive device of 2009. Others are, to say it lightly, not the same. Compared to this one, S60 is outdated garbage. And that is its main difference [from Maemo].

I am looking at N97 holding it in my hands and understand that.. Errr... Anyways, I will write something tomorrow evening, to make you [all] happy... While trying not to create problems for the company.

PS: After living [with this device] for a few months, I can tell that this smartphone is a wonder. And a stable, flying wonder It does lag in a few spots, but all these are expected.
The mention of monastery in the Google Translate output is a part of a Russian idiom that means "cause someone else to suffer an administrative punishment". Word "pobolee" simply means "more", in a slightly archaic (but still used) spoken Russian.

So basically its like any smartphone out there, heavy use will require daily charge, I'm guessing that I will have to have a charger at work, in the car etc for all the playing I'm going to be doing on this thing

What was the battery supplied with the prototype RX-51?
