I am a Slingbox user. I use it with my Treo 700w and it is great. But I think I will be even greater if I can watch my home TV using the big screen on N800. I wonder if anyone know if there is a Linux version of Sling Media player being developed?

Sling added DRM to the latest versions of their slingboxes. So I doubt it.

That's too bad. I thought N800 is the perfect handheld for TV.

I've been talking to a PR rep for Sling from some time. As of my conversation with them at CES, there is no Nokia Internet Tablet client in the roadmap, but I'll keep pushing.

In the meantime, try Orb

N800 works with Orb for streaming live and recorded TV from Media Center PC's. It is not perfect. The N800's Media Player is very limited in the resolutions it supports and there are conflict issues between network throughput and video rendering. Hopefully this will be improved with a future software update, the hardware is capable of performing the task.

On the 770 you would use Applian At-Large Recorder to record an un-encrypted Sling 1.1 firmware stream, then convert the file using Media Converter, stick it on a card and watch it in the 770 using MPlayer. Believe me I have tried many options, this is the only way to do it.
